GPRS-General Packet Radio Service, is a packet oriented mobile data service on the 2G and 3G cellular communication system used in GSM network. GPRS usage is typically charged based on volume of data transferred.

In 2G systems, GPRS provides data rates of 56–114 kbit/second.

2G cellular technology combined with GPRS is sometimes described as 2.5G,
that is, a technology between the second (2G) and third (3G) generations of mobile telephony.

2G is second-generation cellular technology.

Three primary benefits of 2G networks over their predecessors were that
phone conversations were digitally encrypted; 2G systems were significantly more efficient on the spectrum allowing for far greater wireless penetration levels; and 2G introduced data services for mobile, starting with SMS text messages.

2G technologies enabled the various networks to provide the services such as text messages, picture messages, and MMS (multimedia…

Mobile Phone Camera

Initially analog VGA cameras with low resolution were introduced. Now a days some feature mobile (basic mobile) phones and most of the smartphones have digital cameras.

Modern mobile phones have 2 cameras at front and rear side. The front side is used for taking selfies which has lower pixels of resolution and rear side is the main camera that can take higher resolution picture than the front  camera. Normally all cameras, have autofocus which makes the picture sharper to look. They also have digital zoom facility.

Aperture and Megapixels (MP) are the two things to be noticed.

Higher the pixels, higher is the resolution of the pictures taken.
Example: Front - 5MP, Rear- 8 MP; Front - 8MP Rear - 16 MP

Aperture is the camera lens opening measurement, measured as f-number, which controls the amount of light passing through the lens. Aperture also has an effect on depth of field and diffraction
The effective aperture is expressed by an f-number

The smaller the f/number, the larger is the…

Battery of Mobile Phone

Lithium-ion battery is widely used in mobile phones. Lithium-polymer batteries are also used. The battery helps in storing the electric power energy for a long time. Once the phone is charged, it can work until most of the charge is drained.

Milliamp Hour(mAh) is a unit for measuring electric power over time.

mAh is generally used to describe the total amount of energy a Mobile phone battery can store at a time.

The higher the mAh value, the longer is the battery power. If the mAh value is high, the mobile phone can retain charge for longer time before the next recharge of battery.

Examples: 1250mAh, 3000mAh, 5000mAh,

3000mAh means the mobile phone can retain charge for long time. New mobile phones come with fast charging technologies.

Display Screen of Mobile Phone

A basic phone or feature phone has a small display and keypad for interaction with the phone.

Smartphones has a touch screen glass, which uses the finger touch pressure as input through special sensing method (capacitive or resistive) and is converted into an input signal. This way touch screen acts as an input device. New mobile phones covers the most part of the phone’s front surface as touch screen.

In Smartphone, the keypad comes inside the touchscreen, as a virtual display keyboard in Mobile OS, thereby reducing the space and need of keypad hardware.

Display screen or the touch screen is the medium by which a user interacts with the phone. This also determines the size of the phone. It is also an output device.

screen size is based on the diagonal measurement of 4 to 6 inches. (4” to 6”)

There are two types of touch screen displays – Capacitive and Resistive.

Both the displays are based on TFT technology. TFT stands for Thin Film Transistor technology.

Internal memory of Mobile Phone

It is a non-volatile storage, available in mobile phone which  can be used to store photos, mp3, mp4 , videos, text files, and other user created files which you can access at any time, until it is deleted.
The Mobile Operating system (OS) is installed in this memory.
It is sometimes referred as ROM - Read Only Memory.
It is always good to refer as Internal memory rather than ROM. It is also sometimes referred as Internal storage or just storage.
Applications or apps are stored in the internal memory. Some mobile Operating system (OS) do not allow installing apps in external memory or memory card. Hence buying a phone with higher value of internal memory helps us to download more apps and save more files.
Mobile phone Internal Storage comes with 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, etc memory size.
